I can’t find a counterexample.

if you are 13 and there is a 17/18 year old showing interest in you: please run away and never look back. i understand that you feel special; that older person will tell you how mature you are and make you feel special. but please. run away from that person. stay away from them. they do not love you. an 18 year old should not have ANY interest in a 13 year old. please. please be safe. please do not let them manipulate you. they are dangerous. stay away from them

please reblog this post. please spread this message. please protect 13 year olds who can so easily be hurt.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO 😫

Not to sound like a crazy delusional fanboy, but back when the books were still coming out in like 2006-2013, this is the exact kind of promo Snicket did for the novels. Doesn’t anyone remember the “fake” cover for The Unauthorized Autobiography, “the Nameless Novel” promo and website, the crazy shit printed in copyright, etc.? Also, Netflix said the footage is from the 2004 movie with Jim Carey WHICH IT CLEARLY ISN’T. Aaaaaaaand…the video was uploaded on a YouTube by Eleanora Poe, a character in the books and an alter ego Snicket has actually used before (if I’m not mistaken). Honestly, “whoops this video is fake” is totally the kind of V.F.D.-esque thing that Handler would request be done and could therefore be the start of a brilliant marketing campaign.

Imagine if a Lush store flooded

Story time: I’ve been working at Lush for two years. In my first week the manager left me in the store alone while she went to get office stuff. A customer came in and I got chatting to her, and discovered that she had never used a bath bomb before. Now, sometimes we get a box of bath bombs in, and one or two might be a bit chipped, and of course we won’t sell them if they’re not perfect so we keep them in a special drawer and use them to show customers how bath bombs work. So I thought, BRILLIANT. IM GONNA SHOW THIS LADY A BATH BOMB AND ITS GONNA BLOW HER FREAKING MIND. Over enthusiastic newbie that I was, I ran over to this draw and yanked it out. This drawer was in a small table with a demo bowl full of water on the top and the drawer was super full - the table overbalanced and the bowl of water fell off the top and into this drawer full of fucking bath bombs.

YOU GUYS. IT WAS RAINBOW FOAM CHAOS. The manager came back and me and this customer were trying desperately to control this glittery insanity with paper towels and IT JUST. KEPT. FROTHING. And the manager just!!!! Stood there. And laughed!!!!!!!!!! IT TOOK FIFTEEN MINUTES AND ALL OUR COMBINED EFFORTS TO DEAL WITH THE RIDICULOUSNESS CAUSED BY A SINGLE OVERTURNED BOWL OF WATER.

Long story short lush bath bombs do not fuck around.

“gentle reminder that cleopatra’s beauty is rumored to have started wars in ancient history” — a post going around Tumblr

Actually Cleopatra was said to have not actually been that beautiful — men said that until she opened her mouth, she was simply average. What made her beautiful according to Plutarch was her personality and intelligence. Her sparkling wit, charming personality, talent with over half a dozen languages, and in-depth knowledge of almost everything was just so impressive that she often became beautiful in their eyes.

So while that post is nice in that it’s trying to say that women are becoming more beautiful and that if you lived in 30 B.C., you could have started wars, I like this version much better.

You may not be traditionally beautiful, but goddamn neither was Cleopatra and she seduced two of the most powerful men in the world.
